Foreshelf is built by one person.
Built solo in Mile End, Montreal, with one obsession: making inventory visible instead of a black box. Here is how it started.
Before Foreshelf, I worked in retail. Every month I saw products go to waste because they had been over-ordered. Not because of carelessness — because of poor visibility.
For fourteen months, I have been building AI tools in Montreal. One pattern became impossible to ignore: every DTC brand faces this problem, but no one puts it into numbers.
Foreshelf is the tool I wish I had three years ago. I build it alone and personally answer every email. The app is designed to make inventory decisions legible from the data a merchant provides; the value depends on the catalog, history and decisions the merchant makes.
Khandji OmarWhy solo
I believe you can build an excellent product without venture capital, without a 30-person team, and without marketing bullshit. Foreshelf's code has automated tests covering the main workflows. I am the support team. If you write, I personally review the message and reply as soon as I can.
The moat
Foreshelf combines sales forecasting and expiry tracking not because the idea was difficult, but because market leaders (Prediko, Cogsy, Fabrikatör) focus in separate areas. My bet: DTC brands in cosmetics, supplements, and food need both in the same tool.
